He gards their purity like his own eye-sight. On sundays (&quot;moondays&quot;) he tries to keep the eight silas and if available visits a nearby temple where he listens to the Dhamma. Religion to him means his own spiritual development and support of the Buddhist community (He supports monks and nuns). In short, these are his life&#39;s three pillars:</font><blockquote> <ul> <li><font face="Arial">Giving (sharing his righteouly earned posessions with family, friends and teachers), </font></li> <li><font face="Arial">Virtue (Keeping the 5 precepts - sila - as steadfast as possible), </font></li> <li><font face="Arial">Holiday (Observing the uposatha day at least once a month - usually once a week)</font></li> </ul> </blockquote> <p> <font face="Arial">All those in the order of the Awakened One who achieved insight developed their virtues during an inconceivable number of rebirths. </font><hr> <p><font face="Arial">Giving</font></p> <p> <font face="Arial">For him, Giving means sharing with other, giving up, sharing with others - thats religon to him. Material as well as spiritual giving is his foremost endeavour. Giving for him includes purification of one&#39;s own heart, it means faith and spiritual development - it leads to fear and shame for unethical behavior. Giving is the iceberg - in its wake follow all good character traits oh so necessary for reaching nibbana.</font><p>&nbsp;</p> </body> </html>
